Mounjaro and Contraindications
The link below is concerning contraindications between Mounjaro and other medications, including contraception. When using Mounjaro, you should be using other forms of contraception for up to 4 weeks, please read the leaflet attached.
The surgery have noticed an increase of patients accessing services that offer Mounjaro either for payment or via the NHS. The NHS has very strict criteria for Mounjaro and having this criteria is the only way to be referred on for this drug.
The problem we have is that patients are paying for Mounjaro at Community Pharmacies and not all of the pharmacies are letting the surgery know patients are taking Mounjaro.
This adds a complication to consultations and offering medication for ailments as without knowing your clinician could be offering your something that with have a contraindication with Mounjaro.
If you are taking Mounjaro please let the surgery know, we need to know what dosage and how long you have been on this and where you are purchasing this. This then assists your clinicians when you are ill.
