POD (Prescription Ordering Direct) Closing 30th June 2024

Posted by: angelab - Posted on:

If you were unaware the POD, where you ring to order your medication, will cease to be open as of 30th June 2024. Please note that they are no longer able to accept new patients of surgeries to this service and have ceased access by online forms.

If you wish to order medication from the surgery – the best way is to sign up to online services via NHSapp or SystmOnline – you can sign up without coming to the surgery – NHSapp allows you to verify your identity via your passport or driving licence as this is a government based ID. Should you not have this you can find a form on our website www.victoriaroadsurgery.nhs.uk/ via the online services link at the top of the home page and you can attach any ID letters with your name and address on them (2 please) and the surgery will be able to organise online access for you within 2 working days.

Medication ordered via this way will be available within 3 working days.

If you do not have access to a smartphone or computer (both the above online services can be dealt with on your computer or tablet), you can post your repeat slip in the post box outside the surgery (in or out of surgery hours) or in the box by the Prescription Team Window (during surgery hours). The last pick up from these boxes is at 3pm each day – your request will take 3 working days to be organised and at your nominated pharmacy for collection.

If you are unable to do any of the above – you can post via the postal service your prescription slip and your prescription will go to your nominated pharmacy. Should you have a relative or very close friend who helps you – if they have online services – they can collect a form from the surgery and you will need to sign that you are happy for them to have access to order medication and then they will need to bring this back to us with their 2 forms of ID.

Should you have any concerns about this news item please contact the surgery.
