PRESCRIPTION EXEMPTIONS

Some patients can get free prescriptions on age, income or medical grounds.

Some of the medical grounds that may allow patients to be exempt from prescription fees are: -

  • Epilespy for which you need continuous anti-convulsion therapy
  • Diabetes Mellitus and treatment is not just by diet alone
  • Myasthenia gravis
  • Diabetes insipisud or other forms of hypopituitarism.
  • Undergoing treatment for cancer - including for the effects of cancer or the effects of current or previous cancer treatment.

There are other medical conditions on the list and a GP will need to countersign the form.  Forms can be obtained at reception.
