NEW PRESCRIPTION REQUEST TIMESCALES

PLEASE ALLOW 72 WORKING HOURS (3 WORKING DAYS) FOR REPEAT PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS.

Patients will need to obtain an ID number from reception for the new SYSTMONLINE process of online services as of Monday 17 June 2019.

Due to guidelines from NHS England we now require 2 forms of identification from patients requesting online access to services. Please show reception a form of identification - passport/driving licence/bill with patient details on - and an ID will be organised.

Please see 'Our Documents' page for new forms to be completed for online access to the surgery.  Once completed and Reception have seen 2 forms of ID an Unique Number and password will be emailed to you.  Reception will need to verify your email address before doing this, should you wish to have this printed out in reception please inform reception at the time, they will still require to verify your email.

The details of your request will be sent to the surgery. The prescription clerk will prepare your prescription for the doctor to check and sign. You need to allow at least 72 WORKING HOURS (excluding weekends and bank holidays)and then you can collect the prescription from the surgery.

ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTION SERVICE

You maybe aware that the surgery is now using an Electronic Prescription Service with Pharmacies in the area.   If you are interested in using this service please speak to your regular pharmacy about putting this in place for your repeat medication.  The pharmacy will explain the nomination procedure to you and how you order and collect your medication in the future, as this may change.

COLLECTING YOUR PRESCRIPTION FROM THE PHARMACY

You may prefer to collect your medication from a Pharmacy. There is a facility on the Prescription ordering service to let us know which Pharmacy you would like to collect your prescription. Please ensure that you have signed up to the individual Pharmacy for this collection service.

PHARMACY DELIVERY OPTION

Most Pharmacies will deliver medication to people who find it difficult to collect their medication in person. If you would like your nominated Pharmacy to deliver your medication to your home you will need to speak to your Pharmacy to inform them that you wish to use this service. When ordering your prescription please ensure that you type in the Pharmacy you would like your prescription to be sent to.

OTHER WAYS OF COLLECTING PRESCRIPTIONS

Another option is to leave with the prescription clerk, in advance, a supply of Stamped Addressed Envelopes and indicate that you would like the prescription to be posted using one of these envelopes. Please allow time for delays in the post. If you wish to use this option but do not have any SAE's left at the surgery then the prescription will be left for you to collect in the usual way.

IMPORTANT  - We can only accept repeat prescription requests for items which have been previously agreed by the doctor to be suitable for repeat prescription ordering, and for which you have not yet used up all your quota of issues before the doctor needs to review your medication. In these circumstances we shall usually be able to meet your request but sometimes even so there may be reasons why we cannot issue a repeat prescription for some or all of the items. The receptionist will explain when you call to collect the prescription.

NB: If you are ordering your prescription early due to a holiday etc, please write a message for the prescription staff so they understand the reason. If this is not done then there could be a delay in getting a prescription organised for you.
